TOUR OVERVIEW
Scheduled Tour Dates:
April 18th to 22nd, 2026
The Bandhavgarh Tiger Reserve is arguably one of best locations in the world to sight and photograph tigers in their natural habitat.
The park derives its name from the most prominent hillock of the area, which was said to be given by Hindu Lord Rama to his brother Lakshmana to keep a watch on Lanka (Ceylon). Hence the name Bandhavgarh (Sanskrit: Brother’s Fort).
The density of the tiger population at Bandhavgarh is one of the highest known in India, and thus draws tourists from across the land to flock to Bandhavgarh to get a glimpse of this iconic predator.
These rich sal forests are also home to the Indian leopard, jackals, jungle cats, rusty-spotted cats, wild boar, sambar, spotted deer, grey langur, rhesus macaque and several species of birds such as several species of vultures, including the red-headed, long-billed, white-rumped and Egyptian variety, lesser adjutant storks, Malabar pied hornbill, blue-bearded bee-eater and Asian paradise flycatchers to name a few.
We will be exploring this amazing park over 3 full days in the park. The major advantages of full days, is that we get to enter the park 15 minutes earlier and exit 15 minutes later than regular safari folk, but also get to freely choose and cross over between the three famous zones of Bandhavgarh namely Tala, Magdhi and Khitauli. This will allow us to capture the most amazing opportunities of tigers and get to know the park really well.
What’s better, The Outback Experience’s Phillip Ross, will guide you into the forests, take you through the fundamentals of wildlife photography and equip you with a good understanding of tiger behaviour that will help you take stunning photographs. Phillip has been travelling to Bandhavgarh since 2010 and know’s these forests like the back of his hand and will lead you to places where tiger sightings are known to happen.
Come join us for this one-of-a-kind wildlife photography tour!
