DATES: 9th to 16th October 2025
The Outback Experience brings you an unforgettable journey to two of Kenya’s most iconic wildlife destinations — Amboseli and the Masai Mara. This is not just a tour; it’s an immersive wildlife photography adventure designed to exceed expectations. We guarantee it!
You’ll be based in exceptional lodges in both reserves, ensuring front-row access to some of the most breathtaking wildlife encounters on Earth.
Amboseli National Park
A paradise for photographers, Amboseli is world-renowned as the ultimate place to get up close and personal with wild African elephants. Add to that the awe-inspiring backdrop of Mount Kilimanjaro, the world’s tallest free-standing mountain, and you have the perfect recipe for dreamlike images.
During our three full-day safaris, we’ll strive to frame Amboseli’s iconic wildlife against the majestic Kilimanjaro. A scene every photographer dreams of capturing.
Masai Mara National Reserve
Arguably the most celebrated wildlife reserve in the world, the Masai Mara is a must-visit for every nature lover. Spanning over 1,510 km² in the Great Rift Valley at the base of the Siria Escarpment, its sweeping grasslands and seasonal streams are teeming with life.
The Mara is famed for its density of Africa’s Big Five, especially lions, along with healthy populations of cheetahs. Though the black rhino remains critically endangered, sightings are still possible. Large pods of hippos thrive in the Mara and Talek rivers, and the plains are alive with antelope species like Thomson’s and Grant’s gazelles, impala, topi, and Coke’s hartebeest. You’ll also encounter herds of zebra, the elegant Masai giraffe, the elusive Roan antelope, and even the rare bat-eared fox.
Bird enthusiasts will be thrilled with over 450 bird species have been recorded here, including the ground hornbill, crowned crane, ostrich, long-crested eagle, marabou stork, secretary bird, and the African pygmy-falcon.
And to top it all off, Phillip Ross will be your guide through this incredible landscape. He’ll help you understand the behavior and beauty of the region’s wildlife and share expert wildlife photography techniques to elevate your skills and your images.
